Environmental Site Assessment - A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is a study conducted at a real estate holding to identify potential and existing environmental contamination liabilities. The collection of samples, if required, is typically conducted as part of a Phase II ESA.

site and remedial investigations
The key to any remedial project, regardless of size, is a well thought out and executed site and remedial investigation. Both the nature and extent of the contamination must be clearly established to develop a cost-effective remedial action work plan. Inadequate remedial investigations can lead to selection of an inappropriate remedial action or result in costly duplication of effort while an overly elaborate investigation can drive up costs without providing data worth the added expense.
