After 100 years of industrial use and recent neglect the brownfields site is being redeveloped into the $230 million Edison Village, a public-private partnership which is converting the property into condominiums, town homes, retail shops, garage, parks and open space.

  • Preliminary Assessment to Remedial Action Reports
  • Hazardous waste characterization and disposal
  • UST Removal & Remediation
  • Building Interior Sampling and Decommissioning Support
  • Soil and Groundwater Sampling & Delineation
  • Insitu Chemical Oxidation Treatment of Petroleum Contaminated Soils & Groundwater
  • Building Demolition Air Monitoring
  • Concrete Reuse/Recycling Support
  • Remediation of Chlorinated Organics and DNAPL in Soil & Groundwater
  • Indoor Air Evaluations for Mercury and Volatile Organics

Besides providing technical support to meet NJDEP remediation requirements, ECI worked closely with the developer to develop cost-effective solutions to address the environmental conditions encountered on the property. Many of the remediation efforts were implemented as a team approach where ECI personnel and contractors worked together, as needed, to investigate or cleanup a concern, as part of regular renovation activities. These closely coordinated efforts have resulted in significantly reduced remediation costs.
