
LSRPs to perform investigations - The Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRP) program which became effective on November 3, 2009 relies on environmental consultants approved as LSRPs to perform investigations and remediation without pre-approval from the NJDEP. The program is intended to streamline the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites.

Over his 25 year career Mr. Patel has completed hydrogeologic, soils, geophysical investigations, and remedial actions at hundreds of contaminated sites throughout North America, Asia and the Caribbean. He has successfully investigated and remediated sites contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, solvents, paints, inks, PCBs, specialty chemicals, and other hazardous substances.
He has completed soil-gas, soil and groundwater investigations at many industrial sites. These include bedrock soil and groundwater investigations, historical site use evaluations, testing of potable water systems including industrial and domestic wells, aquifer performance testing, conceptual and numerical modeling of groundwater flow and contaminant transport, risk assessments, evaluation of remedial alternatives including soil vapor extraction pilot testing, and design, installation and initial operation of SVE and groundwater pump and treat systems.
Mr. Patel has represented clients with complex sites subject to the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, Cleanup and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA and other similar state laws. He has completed RCRA Part B permits, closure and post-closure plans, and environmental due-diligence audits for property transfers. Under contract to U.S. EPA, he evaluated applications for RCRA Part B hazardous waste management permits for facilities in New York, New Jersey and Puerto Rico. For the State of Louisiana he conducted preliminary assessments and site investigations of over 100 sites for NPL nomination.
